Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - Students
of the Medical Education Review Program (MERP) had the opportunity to
unwind and enjoy a relaxing dinner and bonfire on Taino Beach at Junkanoo
Beach Club recently, all organized for them by the Student Services
department. They dined on traditional Bahamian cuisine and listened
to island music while gazing at the sunset. Later in the evening students
gathered around a bonfire and had the opportunity to reflect on their
first few weeks on the island.
“This event is one
of many held to assist the students in enjoying island life and to emphasize
the importance of relaxing between studies," said Mrs. Meg Osman,
director of Student Services.
The MERP program is a rigorous 15-week
program designed to provide preparatory basic science course content
for medical school education. Students who successfully complete MERP
are offered entry to Ross University School of Medicine located in Dominica.
